There And Back Again

I await, with bated breath, this movie. Its trailer had me sighing (swooning and drooling too - for Thorin Oakenshield) because I can go back to Middle Earth!! Yes, it's The Hobbit!!! And the dwarves sing!! Which is the whole point of this post :)

Here's the complete poem, as written by Tolkien and below is what appears in the trailer of The Hobbit.


Far over the Misty Mountains cold,

To dungeons deep and caverns old.

The pines were roaring on the heights,

The wind was moaning in the night,

The fire was red, it flaming spread,

This is not exactly a review - because I don't know the language well enough to write a German review, but I will, in due time. Reviewing the Harry Potter books would take its toll on me because of the details in it - the same goes for the Lord of the Rings. Maybe if I'd  reviewed them as I read them it would've made it easier but... Anyway. Harry Potter in Deutsch . I'm re-learning the language - signed up for the A1 level once again because I haven't retained what I learned three years ago. The focus is on his continual efforts to trump Philip IV of France , and the works of Roger Bacon . It begins, as every good mystery should, with a death, here following a theft of a copy of Bacon's Secretus Secretorum (a lovely play on Secretum Secretorum ) from the French. The basis of the plot? Decode Bacon's, a priest and scientist, work by finding the key to his book because it's all written in code, and ultimately shift the balances of power in the favor of the one that makes the discovery first! Both Kings send envoys, academics led by a shrewd politician, to try and figure this out through mutual cooperation, but foul play is suspected in achieving these ends as people begin to die
